First Covenant Church

Tammy Swanson-Draheim is Senior Pastor at First Covenant Church. Born and raised in Northern California, she previously served at Crossroads Covenant Church in Concord, CA. In 2000 Tammy and her family moved to Chicago where they lived for 3 years while Tammy finished her seminary work and ministered as a chaplain at Covenant Home of Chicago, a retirement community. Tammy graduated from North Park Theological Seminary in 2003 with a Master of Divinity and a Master in Management, from the North Park University business school. She was ordained in 2005. Tammy and her husband Kelly have two boys, David, a junior and at Mason City High School and Michael a sophomore at Drake University. Tammy enjoys many things, including reading, walking, patronizing good coffee shops, bargain hunting at thrift stores, life on the lake/pond where they live, playing games and hanging out with friends. Most of all she enjoys attending the many activities her sons and husband participate in. David is an athlete, with football at the top of the list. Michael is very involved in Drake's drama department doing set design and lighting for productions there. Kelly is an outdoorsman who enjoys fishing and boating.
